April Faith-Slaker has served as the Executive Director of the Texas Access to Justice Commission since late 2023. Before joining the Commission, she implemented a Right to Counsel program, while serving as the Executive Director of the City of Detroit’s Office of Eviction Defense. She has also held several positions at the American Bar Association, the most recent of which was as Director of the Resource Center for Access to Justice Initiatives, where she facilitated the development of state access to justice commissions across the country.

She also has extensive experience as a researcher, having conducted field-based studies at the Access to Justice Lab at Harvard Law School; policy research at the University of Nebraska’s Center for Children, Families and the Law; and qualitative research on the juvenile justice system while doing her graduate studies at Northwestern University. She has also used her research skills to inform access to justice programming, having worked as a program evaluator at Legal Aid of Nebraska.

April has a B.A. in philosophy and psychology from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and an M.A. from Northwestern University.

Sarah Mae Jennings joined the Texas Access to Justice Commission in 2024. Previously, she served as the Policy Director at a statewide legal nonprofit, combating the criminalization of poverty in Texas, and worked as a public defender in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sarah Mae is an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the University of Texas School of Law, and a faculty member for the Texas Justice Court Training Center.

Sarah Mae holds a B.A. from the University of Georgia and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. She is currently enrolled in the LBJ Women’s Campaign School at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Zachary Levick joined the Texas Access to Justice Commission in the summer of 2024. Prior to this role, Zach worked in private practice, specializing in commercial bankruptcy law and civil litigation. He is an active member of the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Young Lawyers Association.

Zach holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Miami and a J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Dominga Titus, a Texas native and veteran of the United States Air Force, joined the Commission in December of 2022. She brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, customer service, and management to her role.

During her time in service, Dominga was a Korean Linguist. She is trilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Korean. Dominga holds an Associate of Arts in Teaching from Austin Community College and a paralegal certificate from the University of Texas CPE, earned in early 2024. Her background includes roles in hospitality, sales, and as a legal assistant in mass torts.

Latoriyan Freeman joined the team in the Spring of 2022. Prior to working for the State Bar, she worked in education where she was responsible for assisting adult students successfully finish their higher education journey.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at Texas State University, holds an MBA in Marketing from Lamar University, and has extensive knowledge in project management, communications, and marketing. Latoriyan is a native Central Texan and takes great pride in her work serving the community at large.
